Yacht Registration
At Octopus we also offer a full Yacht registration service, with the same down to earth and practical approach that we apply to our company formation activities.
Please contact us for full information, in the meantime, to get you started here is a brief overview of documents required.
1. If the vessel is new and has never been registered, the original Builders Certificate, executed by the builder. If it is a re-sale and holds registration documents from another port, the following must be provided:
Once the above has been filed at the Yacht Registry together with the necessary application, a Carving and Marking Note stating the vessels' name, port of registry, official number and register of tonnage, will be issued. A form is then produced and signed by the appointed Registered Agent if the vessel is under 24m. If the vessel is over 24m, the Carving and Marking Note needs to be signed by one of the 6 classified societies mentioned above.
It is compulsory that a Tonnage Plate be fixed on the vessel. A photograph must be received, showing the fixed Tonnage Plate and the name of the vessel, before the registration document is released.
